Hi Seymour!

Say "hello" to Seymour! He's been living in a small vegetable garden outside my living room window. Seymour's a cherry tomato plant but there's nothing small about him. I named him after the plant from "Little Shop of Horrors" because he's growing out of control. Seymour's about 6' tall at only a month old. His dad, Seymour Sr., grew over the gutters onto the roof last year. I never found out how far Seymour Sr. made it but Jr. has high aspirations.

He's covered with green tomatoes and yellow flowers. The bees are buzzing but those poor hummingbirds are having a rough time gathering enough courage to make their way to the hidden feeder. Oh, by the way, in the picture below Seymour is on the left. I haven't named the tomato plant next to him so suggestions are welcome!

Stacy (my daughter) works a lot of food magic :) Yesterday, she went to pick cherries for her second homemade pie of the season and found out the birds ate most of them already. She still managed to make some single serving ones though. We'll be sure to keep a close eye on the tomatos so she can take her amazing salads to the next level of wonderfulness. Home grown, freshly picked fruits and veges...YUM! We've had 90 degree days this past week so it shouldn't take too long!

Gotta love summer!
